Planting yews (Taxus x media)

Planting is a great activity for the fall. It's cooler but not frosty and the plants will have time to establish before next season's summer heat.

Today I planted yews (Taxus x media 'Hillii') for a client who lost five specimens from last year's planting.

You can expect to lose a few specimens because our summers are hot and people are busy. This client had water outlet issues and thus he lost five yews. It's a lot of work for new plants to establish.

Note that they were trying to plug up holes quickly so the new plants are smaller and different cultivars but, hey, they're not worried about it. It's not a public garden; they just want a screen.
